The Guardian Association of Pinellas County (GAPC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 with a commitment to advancing the profession of guardianship. Our mission is to support professional guardians through education, resources, and a collaborative community, ensuring they can provide the highest standard of care for the vulnerable individuals entrusted to their protection.

GAPC has played a pivotal role in the development of guardianship in Florida, including the creation of the state’s first 40-hour training program for guardians in 1987. Today, we continue to offer continuing education programs designed to keep guardians informed and equipped to handle the complexities of their role.

As professional guardians manage the care of multiple individuals, GAPC provides a vital support network—connecting them with fellow professionals, service providers, and resources to enhance their practice. Our focus is on deepening engagement within the guardianship community, promoting ethical standards, and fostering collaboration among those dedicated to safeguarding the well-being and rights of incapacitated individuals.

Whether you are a seasoned guardian or new to the field, GAPC offers the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary to help you excel in your practice and provide compassionate, effective care to those who need it most.
