GAPC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Join us for an essential update on recent legislative developments and case law impacting professional guardianship practice in Florida. Attendees will receive an overview of bills that were considered, learn about key case law updates including Silva v. Silva and Ticktin v. Goldmintz, and understand which proposals we may see again in future sessions.

SPEAKER BIO

Enrique is a partner at Zamora Hillman & Villavicencio whose practice focuses on litigating and administering guardianships, probate and trusts, as well as estate planning. With a degree in finance from the University of Florida and a JD from Vanderbilt Law School, Enrique is knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, his clients’ needs to conserve estate or guardianship assets and to reduce tax liability.

Enrique has developed expertise in administering complex, high-value estates from start to finish. He has represented personal representatives throughout Florida and has facilitated distribution of estate assets to heirs located in the United States and Latin America. Enrique also represents Cuban heirs of domestic estates and helps them comply with the Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations to facilitate receipt of inheritances to the heirs in Cuba.

With respect to guardianships, Enrique has represented incapacitated persons and their caregivers to assist them with various financial matters, such as establishing payment plans for long-term care and preparing and submitting all court-required accountings. Enrique is also an adjunct professor of law at St. Thomas Law School where he teaches Guardianship Law and Elder Law. Enrique has been a member of the Elder Law Section for over 10 years and currently serves as chair of the Law School Liaison Committee.
