GAPC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Presented by Tee Rogers, Dignity Memorial

Professional guardians face unique legal, financial, and emotional challenges when managing a ward's final arrangements. This presentation moves beyond simply writing down wishes, exploring a guardian's options & responsibilities, and the critical steps required for successful preneed planning.

We will delve into Florida statutes, consumer protection (like the FTC Funeral Rule), and crucial Medicaid planning strategies that turn a potential financial crisis into a protected, organized end-of-life plan. Learn how to secure your client's dignity while mitigating liability and safeguarding their assets.

Attendees of this program will:

  • Understand final arrangements processes and options, including authority to make disposition decisions and mitigating potential conflict.
  • Understand consumer protections and responsibilities in making final arrangements.
  • Understand irrevocable pre-funding of final arrangements, protecting the client’s eligibility for benefits by appropriately sheltering funds for final expenses.
